The Mah Jongg Oracle – For centuries, the Chinese have sought wisdom, advice and comfort in the knowledge acquired from the mysterious oracle of Mah Jongg
In Temples around the world, the use of oracles is/are commonplace, used to advise and direct people in all aspects their lives. For millions of path seeking individuals, divination is an integral part of their daily worship
In China, the soothsayer has always been held in great reverence with many of the major temples having their own diviners for spiritual direction and clarity. These diviners or interpreters are trained in the complex art of understanding or “reading” the oracle’s symbols and interpreting their layered meaning to the querant, for whom the oracle is being read.
In a Mah Jongg reading there are 144 cards used (which add up to an auspicious number nine). Within those cards are the Five Elements, the Eight Guardian Cards, and four decks further divided into Honors (Green, White and Red Dragons, the Four Directions) and Suits (Bamboo, Circles, and Characters.)Based on the cards selected, predictions and life directions are revealed.
